Where have you lived besides Richmond?
I have lived in Richmond most of my life. My family moved to Richmond from Atlanta, Georgia when I was 9 years old. I left briefly for college, but have been here since I graduated (many years ago!). My husband and I have lived in the Museum District for 20 years and raised our three daughters here!

How did you come to call the Museum District home?
My husband and I had outgrown our little starter home in the Grove / Malvern area and were looking for a larger house. My husband was out for a run one morning and happened to notice our current house on Hanover. Although it was not on the market at the time, it came on the market about a month later and we jumped! We have never regretted our decision!

Tell us a little about your career path.
I have worked at the VCU School of Business for ten years! I sit at a desk and manage data all day. Sounds boring, I know, but I love it! And VCU is a great place to work!

What is your favorite part of the Museum District?
When my kids were little it was the Humphrey Calder playground and the bookstore, Narnia (now bbgb in Carytown). Now that we are months away from an empty nest, my favorite places are Belmont Food Shop and the VMFA sculpture garden (with a good book and / or a glass of wine!). Every time I walk through the sculpture garden at the VMFA I feel so fortunate to live in the Museum District! The Chihuly reeds never get old for me!

What is your favorite thing to do in Richmond?
There is so much to do in Richmond on a daily basis that I couldn't possibly pick just one favorite so instead I'll tell you that festivals I look forward to most every year are River Rock and the Folk Festival.

Tell us about your hobbies and interests.
I was a runner for 20 years, but had to quit because of injuries so I've transitioned to biking and yoga. I love riding on the Capital Trail! My husband and I are planning to bike the Erie Canal in New York this coming summer.
CLICK HERE TO PAY YOUR 2019/20 dues! It’s only $40, and we still have 6 fun meetings left...THANK YOU!
