Join us for a holiday social -- bring something to share for the potluck, and don't forget any donations you may have for our holiday charity: CASA!
Holiday Charity!
The MDWC has adopted the
Richmond Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA)
as our holiday charity this year!
Richmond CASA recruits, trains, and supervises competent and dedicated volunteers who advocate for the needs of abused, neglected, and at-risk children in juvenile dependency proceedings. By advocating for children in court cases, CASA volunteers promote safe, permanent homes for all children and seek to educate the community about the needs of abused and neglected children.
The MDWC will donate $250 to the Richmond CASA organization.
We are asking our interested members to donate any of the following:
  • Diapers in All Sizes, Including Preemie
  • Baby Wipes
  • Bottles
  • Baby Formula
  • Sippy Cups
  • Crib Sheets and Blankets (New or Gently Used)
  • Sheets in Twin, Double, and Queen Size (New or Gently Used; If Used, Please Label the Size)
CASA also accepts monetary donations. Richmond CASA is a program of SCAN so please make sure the check is written out to “Greater Richmond SCAN" (to ensure this is applied correctly and is received tax free).
Any level of donation is greatly appreciated!!!
Please bring your donation(s) to the December 21st meeting/holiday pot luck.

Museum District Association Updates
MDA Mother's Day House & Garden Tour
Planning has begun! The Museum District Women's Club wants to host a home again so we need 10-12 volunteers. You do not have to be a member to volunteer with us; bring a family member or friend! Everyone who volunteers will receive a free ticket to the house tour and attend a fun party the evening before!  Contact: and let them know you want to volunteer at the MDWC house (Jessie Reuben's house)!

Neighborhood Watch
The MDA is organizing a Neighborhood Watch program. If you are interested in participating in a structured crime prevention program for the district, please email their Safety Chairman, Ron Russ. Watch Facebook and Nextdoor for dates and announcements.

St Mark's Food & Clothing Pantry
If you have a warm jacket, hoodie, jeans, pants, long sleeved shirts, scarves, hats, gloves, belts, underwear, sneakers, or walking shoes that you no longer wear, please consider passing them on to those less fortunate. Clothing giveaway is the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month in conjunction with the soup kitchen and food pantry. Also, many guests have asked for a sleeping bag, backpack, or tent and camping supplies. Items can be dropped off at St. Mark's, 520 N. Boulevard. The church is open Tuesday-Friday 11 AM-4 PM, and you leave bags earlier in the day if it is more convenient. The back door of the church is in the parking lot between Kensington and Patterson. If you need a tax receipt, please email your name and address to the office and one will be emailed to you. Any questions, contact Martha.
