Open Robotics, the organization behind the robot operating system (ROS), announced a Technical Steering Committee (TSC) to set the technical direction for ROS 2. The committee will determine the ROS 2 roadmap, developing core tools and libraries and establishing working groups to focus on important topics. Open Robotics is still looking for others to join the TSC. MatLab STEM Challenge: High school students learn to code in MATLAB and are then tasked to create their own fitness tracker. Students begin with an online tutorial on MATLAB which should start and be completed during Massachusetts STEM Week (October 22-26) as part of an after-school club or school time activity.
