WELCOME TO OUR JUNE 2020 NEWS

What a strange time! I saw a lovely tweet the other month 'May we all live in precedented times' :-)

As part of my job as Projects and Outreach Manager at the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities, I've been running a Virtual Scottish Jewish Art Club on a Thursday morning since the end of March.
Tomorrow, Thursday 18th June 10-12, i'm finally running a session on Hannah Frank.
Sorry for such late notice!

It looks like this:

THURSDAY 18 JUNE 10 a.m. - 12 noon
SCoJeC’s Virtual Scottish Jewish Art Club

This Thursday Fiona Frank will speak about the art and life of her aunt, Hannah Frank (1908-2008), and the project to keep her legacy alive.  Some of the Glasgow University History of Art students who worked alongside Fiona to organise the recent 110th birthday exhibition will join her for a discussion about "where next with the Hannah Frank legacy project”.

The club has been going since lockdown and will run to the end of June; most mornings we start with a speaker and discussion, then there’s a chance to share thoughts about our favourite art and artists.  Open to all. Register here:   https://tinyurl.com/scojecartclub

Free - all welcome.

Hope to see some of you there
And if you do plan to come, please watch this delightful short film first if you haven't seen it already - Hannah Frank The Spark Divine by Sarah Thomas - if possible - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U42XfPTNnA

We've been thinking about what to do next with the art before it goes into appropriate museum archives....
I'm wondering if all exhibitions will go 'worldwide' on digital plaforms from now on....

Anyway enough of the dystopia

hope to see some of you in the morning!
best wishes

best wishes and stay safe
