FANTASTIC FEEDBACK ON 110th BIRTHDAY EXHIBITION
The Hannah Frank 110th birthday exhibition at Glasgow University Chapel ended on 6 February. We had superb feedback from visitors about the curation, the inclusion of printing plates and sculpture moulds, the music and speeches at the opening night, the content and range of open creative activities, talks and tours. The workshops we put on for schools, refugee groups and visually impaired people were also very well received.
The National Lottery grant that we were awarded through Creative Scotland part way through the exhibition allowed us to expand the range of creative activities we were able to offer, and pay our team of talented and knowledgeable Glasgow University student interns for their fantastic contribution to making the exhibition a success.

OUR WORK CONTINUES
The work funded by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland continues as we reach out to new audiences.  Also we’re establishing an inventory of the whereabouts of all of Hannah Frank’s original drawings and bronze and terracotta sculptures.  This will mean that future curators will be able to easily access information about the works.

Lilith, Sylvie, Lisa and Geanina, our Glasgow University students, (plus Jess, who left us at Christmas) have thrown themselves into this work, putting in many hours going through auction records, documents and lists of Hannah Frank’s drawings and sculpture, as well as working with schools and other groups to bring Hannah’s work to new audiences.  Later this month they will be starting work with consultant Fiona Greer on recording audio descriptions of many of Hannah Frank’s drawings and sculptures to bring the appreciation of this art to visually impaired people.

TRACING THE WORKS
During her lifetime Hannah Frank gave away several of her drawings to friends and family and she donated sculptures to Glasgow Jewish organisations for auction and raffle. She sold some drawings and sculpture in the 1970s, and some were purchased at exhibitions through the years. We’re now trying to locate all of her drawings and sculptures - a mammoth task!

So, we’re asking everyone on our mailing list and all our Facebook followers to let us know if you, or anyone you know, owns a Hannah Frank original drawing or sculpture. If you do, we’d like a photo of the work(s) in situ - and if you can remember, please let us know when and how you acquired the work.  We would be very grateful.
Have you ever considered owning your own sculpture? A beautiful addition to your home: a bronze sculpture, recast for you with your choice of patina.  Prices range from £1845 to £2995.  Email or phone for full details and price list.
THE SPARK DIVINE ON YOUTUBE
And finally - after ten years of it only being available on DVD, you can finally see the beautiful 25 minute film ‘Hannah Frank, The Spark Divine’, by award winning filmmaker Sarah Thomas in 2008 - online. The direct link is here  - or go to YouTube and search for Hannah Frank, the Spark Divine.

Thanks for your support through the years - and welcome too to new subscribers who’ve just discovered Hannah Frank’s work recently.

best wishes
