Making Connections

Montrose PTA Newsletter

There are lots of things happening in our school and in our district. A great way to find out more is to attend PTA and Board of Education meetings! If you can’t make it, we want to make sure that the information is available by posting agendas and minutes on our website. Did you know that you can watch the BOE meetings from the comfort of your own home? Every month you can watch the BOE meetings on channel 35 in Maplewood, channel 19 in South Orange and channel 22 on Verizon Fios. Meetings are re-broadcast every Wednesday at 8:00pm and every Thursday at 11:30am until the next board meeting. Additionally, the meetings are available On-Demand via this link: Click HERE.

Stay informed and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at meccpta@gmail.com.

Toys for the 10th Classroom

There will be a new classroom to fill the need of incoming special education students. It is due to open March 5 and the lead teacher will be Ms. Julia DelGrande who had been Ms. Betsy's replacement teacher this year. The classroom will be located for the rest of the year at Marshall Elementary School and then move to its permanent spot at Montrose next Fall. Like any preschool classroom, it needs a wide variety of toys. Renée is requesting that if you have any that are in good condition and you'd like to donate them, please contact her and she may be looking for what you have. Please do not bring toys in without talking with her first.

Meet the Staff

This issue we meet Ms. Ann, who shares her passion for teaching
with her students and passes on an inspiring quote right in time
for Dr. Seuss's Birthday week!

My name is Ann Lombardo. I have been teaching Preschool in the South Orange Maplewood School District for over ten years. I have my Master’s Degree in Education from the College of Saint Elizabeth. Teaching is my passion, and I look forward to sharing this educational journey with my students and their families. Furthermore, I am a very proud mother of two beautiful children. One of our favorite activities is reading together. We enjoy books by Dr. Seuss, especially Oh, the Places You'll Go!

“You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So…..get on your way”! –Dr. Seuss
