Get your Christmas off to a sparkly start

Normally we’d be gearing up to launch our Mince Pie Mingle campaign about now. However, with social distancing rules it’s just not possible this year. But don’t despair, we’ve got lots of other festive plans afoot!

We’ll be sending a special Christmas newsletter with all the details, but here’s a little teaser of what’s to come...

Christmas Auctions
Next month, we’ll be holding a series of online auctions with lots of fantastic prizes for you to bid on including a dryrobe, luxury food hamper, bottles of speciality gin and rum, a hang-gliding experience and meals at some lovely local restaurants. There’s sure to be something for everyone.

Charity Christmas cards
Donate to our charity instead of sending paper cards this year. We’ll be launching our Charity E-cards shortly, so keep your eyes peeled.

Hamper donations
Got any bottles of booze or toiletries you don’t want? We’re after goodies to fill our Christmas hampers, so get in touch if you can help.
Mayor’s Charity of the Year 2020/21
Councillor Alan Rennles, Mayor of Barnstaple, has chosen us as his charity of the year. The Mayor will be organising some online fundraising events to raise money for our charity, so keep an eye on the Barnstaple Town Council website and Facebook page for updates.
Cheque out our latest donations...
Many thanks to the Barnstaple Round Table for their generous donation of £1,000 and Waitrose, for their cheque for £333. A welcome boost for our charity.

Know a business that might like to donate or fundraise for us? Please get in touch.
An invitation to our Annual General Meeting
If you’d like to join us for our online AGM, send us an email and we’ll send you the details.

And finally...

Congratulations to our Virtual Great North Run team who completed their half-marathon last month - Sally, Sarah, Marie and Becky!
Becky deserves a special mention, as she completed the GNR Solo as well as the half-marathon, which involved completing 40 runs in commemoration of the GNR’s 40th anniversary. An amazing effort, which has been rewarded with £690 of sponsorship including gift aid! Brilliant!
Thank you for your continued support at this difficult time.
Best wishes, the Care for Kids team.
