Here Are Some Of The Exciting New Events At The In Person Meet!
We have some exciting new events at the In Person Meet at the Queensborough Community Center on May 28th. Don't miss the chance to be a part of the first in person RMMBC in two years! Register today!
Meet My Layout
Meet the Modeller is our way of bringing our hobby to the meet, but what about those of you whose projects are a little less portable or are not quite done yet? This year we've created something just for you.
Meet My Layout is an opportunity to share your layout without committing to a full virtual layout tour. Simply send a brief overview of your layout plus four or five images that capture the essence of your layout to the Meet My Layout coordinator. We will assemble them into a presentation, and at the meet on May 28th you will have an opportunity to introduce yourself and your layout in a short 4-5 minute discussion. Overviews of complete layouts and work in progress are both welcome! See the Meet My Layout page on the website for more information.
You can learn a whole lot more by getting to know other model railroaders who work on projects similar to yours. This year, we introduce social gatherings related to specific railroads and eras. Have a question about how to model your favourite piece of equipment? It's likely someone else has already researched it; if not, maybe they will be interested to collaborate with you.
Ever wonder how the prototype actually operated your line? Perhaps someone knows someone who was there to get that information! Or maybe you just like hanging out with people with the same taste in railroad-centric T-shirts. This will be a facilitated exchange to ensure everyone has a chance to learn and share. Be ready to introduce yourself and engage with other like-minded modellers about topics that are of mutual interest.
Table Top Clinics
A number of your fellow modellers will demonstrate their work informally while answering questions. Draw up your chair and learn new techniques and tricks. See how they achieve their goals. We'll have six presenters demonstrating two broad themes: traditional model-building and finishing techniques. All the table top clinicians have unique approaches to their work; you won't want to miss these mini-clinics.
On Line Prologue Times
Every Thursday evening at 7PM Pacific we will have online clinics as part of the On Line Prologue portion of the meet. You can chose to attend just the online portion or both the online and in person meets. The choice is yours. And the best part is it is free to sign up!.
