PAPI, in partnership with Make It York are organising a free online Business Funding Roadshow event for B2B SMEs in York area to find out what grant funding and business support is currently available. Join Make It York's next Connect Over Coffee event on 16 June over Zoom. Phill Monk from the City of York Council's Commercial Procurement team will share how the council sources contractors and suppliers, including tendering processes. You will also have an opportunity to give your comments and views on how you think it can be improved. First Bus York is offering a new Group ticket and free York Gin G&Ts to welcome people back into the city centre. The First Taste of Freedom ticket costs just £5 for up to five people to travel together on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday using the First Bus app. As an extra bonus, York Gin’s canned G&Ts can be enjoyed with every First Taste of Freedom ticket. York Professionals is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the group’s first face-to-face event and a bid to attract 20 new members in 2021. The membership organisation launched in 2001, brings together professional services firms across the city with the aim of demonstrating the strength and depth of local expertise. Young entrepreneurs from across the city are being invited to come and trade at York’s local heats for the National Market Traders’ Federation (NMTF) Young Traders’ Market. Each Sunday throughout June a series of Young Traders events will be taking place on Shambles Market with anyone aged between 16-30 eligible to apply to take part. The YO1 Beach Club is a brand-new family-friendly space located in Tower Gardens at the foot of Skeldergate Bridge, opening on 24 June and running until 5 September.

On Sunday 25 July, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity will be taking over York Cycle Circuit at the University of York for the Big Bike Challenge, a 4-hour endurance event raising money to fund vital brain tumour research in Yorkshire. York Minster is inviting members of the public to comment on design proposals for a new refectory and public open space on the site of the former Minster School. The public consultation on the design proposals is available online until Sunday 13 June.
