City of York Council has launched a campaign to encourage residents and visitors to ‘protect, respect and be kind’ as everyone adjusts following the lifting of national restrictions - find out more. Businesses in York can now download the new ‘Protect, respect and be kind’ business toolkit to support the campaign. The York BID and City of York Council have partnered to invest in new ground breaking technology that will offer both businesses and partners valuable insights into York’s local economy. Movement Insights brings together data on O2 mobile users, VISA merchant and online transactions to paint a clear picture of how the city centre is performing. Find out more
York Businesses are invited to complete the My City Centre York business survey, which has been created specifically with business in mind to explore the challenges and opportunities faced in York’s city centre. My City Centre York is a city-wide conversation to inform a new vision for the centre of York.

The ESF (European Social Fund) funded Specialist Skills Support Programme is providing the opportunity for York, North Yorkshire and East Riding based SMEs to access specialist consultancy, support, advice and training around a number of key issues facing small businesses right now. To celebrate Yorkshire Day a series of fun Yorkshire-themed activities will be taking place throughout the city centre over the weekend (30 July - 1 August), coordinated by Make It York, York BID and City of York Council. Local businesses across the city will also be getting involved by dressing their windows in all things Yorkshire for a special competition. Find out more

Run For All, working in partnership with City of York Council to deliver the 2021 York 10K. The event will require the closure of roads and road junctions as well as the suspension of a number of Traffic Regulation Orders between 17:00 on Friday 30 July and 15:00 on Sunday 1 August.

Everyone is invited to join the York Creatives Night Market evening at Shambles Market on 20 August to browse the art and products by independent traders. There'll be street food, drinks and music all evening, and the night market is free and open to all to attend.
