Framed to 16 x 20 inches.  $395

Hello my lovely friends!
First of all, I am delighted to tell you that my show at the Vault at Gallery Mortgage has been extended until December 3, 2019!   Address:  121 E 6th St. Bloomington, Indiana.  Gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.   If you get a chance to go, I'd love to hear your comments.   FIll out a card and tell me what your favorite pieces are.

In the meantime, I have been practicing 'meeting myself at the paper'.

As you can imagine, there is a lot of pressure for an artist to turn out a masterpiece every single time, and that's just not possible - for so many reasons.  With watercolor, if you want to preserve the luminosity,  there is only so much you can do before it's time to take that one down and start another.  This means a lot of false starts, a lot of experiments, and a lot of failures between pieces that I like well enough to share.   And then, when I produce something that makes my own heart sing in one way or another, there are inevitably comments from others who try to help me 'improve' it, or tell me what is wrong with it.

Meeting myself at the paper means that I try to listen to only myself and the paint while I'm working.  It's so much more peaceful and enjoyable that way.  [And, surprise surprise, I produce more things that I like].

These days I'm working on stopping when I've said enough in a piece.  The piece above and this piece are my most recent efforts.

Framed to 20 x 24 inches.  $595

In each there is a lot more I could say - but do I need to?  There will always be people who think they're 'not done yet.  'You should add.... It needs...'    But since I meet myself at the paper, I'm ignoring those voices and only listening to what  the paint and I want to say - and stopping when I've said just enough.

All my best love to you all for a season filled with 'just enough' things that make your own heart sing.
