Message from Our President

Welcome Back! Here’s hoping that everyone is getting settled into new routines, seamless back to school transitions and that we’re inching closer to cooler, crisper Fall temperatures.

I was so thrilled to be kicking off the 2016-2017 year with our Garden Party. Special thanks to former board member, Febbie Staniar for opening her beautiful home to us, and to committee members Heather Harris, Vanessa Lambrix and Kathy Kennedy for planning a great event.

We have some exciting things happening with CC of HHK this year.  As I spoke about at the Garden Party, the club has a long-standing position of supporting our community.  Last year, we supported not only our club beneficiaries – YAC, Angel Fund, Ho-Ho-Kus-Waldwick Co-op, Seniors, CERF, but we were also able to raise money for causes like Autism and Cerebral Palsy. And even presented a $2,000 scholarship to HHK resident, Dillon Rice.

Community is at the core of who we are in the Contemporary Club. While Fundraising is a large part of what we’re dedicated to doing for the year ahead (we’d so love to raise $15K by end of May/early June!), fostering and nurturing friendships and social interaction amongst our members, friends, children and larger community are also top priorities.

You’ll see some crave-worthy product sales (have you seen those adorable Halloween tubs?!), innovative programming (hats off to Linda Pordon for her slate of Man Date gatherings for the men) and special perks for members.

I hope to see you at our Progressive Dinner coming up on 10/15 – it’s probably the most popular of our events and promises a fun night out where members get to mix and mingle while enjoying cocktails and apps, a gourmet sit down dinner and after-party.  The best part?  This year, all of this fun and revelry will benefit an amazing cause: our beneficiaries! So have that extra glass of wine – it’s in the name of good fun and charitable cause.

We’re doing our best to ensure our messages and events are reaching everyone.  If you’re not receiving our Evites or Gmail emails – or would like to be put on our list – kindly send a note to us at  Be sure to join our Facebook Group, and visit our website:

Have a Fantastic Fall!

Many of you already took advantage of our newly available Ho-Ho-Kus Pocus Halloween buckets at the Garden Party but don't lose out on your next chance at the October General Meeting. The buckets will be for sale for $20 and profits go towards our beneficiaries. Support this fun and festive fundraiser!

Our commitment to Meals on Wheels continues through the year so keep an eye out for volunteer requests at meetings and on Facebook, Time commitment is 11am-12pm and can easily be done by 1 or 2 people. Great opportunity to bring along your kids to show them what giving back to your community looks like! Please contact Stacey ( or Nicole ( for any additional information. Thank you!

The Contemporary Club kicked off it's fall season on Sunday, September 18th with a beautiful Garden Party at the home of Febbie Staniar. Many thanks to Febbie for graciously hosting the Club's first meeting of the 2016-2017 season.
Funds raised last year were presented to the beneficiaries, the Youth Activities Council (YAC), the Angel Fund, the Ho-Ho-Kus/Waldwick Cooperative nursery School, Seniors of Ho-Ho-Kus, and CERF.

Anna and Ken Wilson welcomed Abigail June to their family on July 14. She weighed 7 lbs 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. This is Anna and Ken's first child. They (and the family's two pups) are so excited!

Lauren and John Rosato welcomed John Thomas Rosato on June 9. His big sister Madelyn is over the moon excited! John was 7 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long and has blue eyes.
