Name: Stacey Tran    ::    Occupation: Writer    ::    Age: 26    ::    City: Portland, OR    ::    Astrological sign: Taurus sun, Cancer moon, Cancer rising

Currently watching my boyfriend take such great care of his first ever houseplant (and resurrecting mine) / listening to Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou / reading Olio by Tyehimba Jess

Current obsession: Clementines. Writing a poem via text line by line with Vi. Jalapeño flavored potato chips. Raw unsalted cashews.

Most important failure: Overcommitting. Saying yes to too many things. It taught me (and still teaches me) how and when to say no to some things so I can make room for myself.

Recurring dream: Labyrinths. Old, ornate buildings with high ceilings and big windows. I'm in awe or wandering, freely.

Personal role model: My mother, who is a survivor, a gardener, a wonderful cook, and ultimate life hacker.

The future/What's next: My first book, Soap for the Dogs, is coming out in 2018 from GRAMMA. It’s centered on themes of food, family, cross-cultural identity.

...Jessica Chastain calling out the lack on female representation in the film industry.
"I do hope that when we include more female storytellers, we will have more of the women that I recognize in my day-to-day life. Ones that are proactive, have their own agencies, don’t just react to the men around them."
Thanks for participating! See you next Monday for Meg Wachter and Amanda Stosz of Got a Girl Crush!
