Review of Equality Acts Submission
Deadline: 8th of December 2021
The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth are carrying out a review of the Equality Acts.
FLAC have done an excellent explainer on the Acts and advice on making a submission to the review which is available here
There is a lot of information, but the key points are highlighted in yellow in the document! Local Traveller organisations are very well placed to submit on up to date case studies, and to highlight the lived experiences of Travellers who have struggled to seek justice on issues relating to discrimination and how the Acts could be improved.
ITM is also submitting to the review, and is hosting a consultation with members today (1st of December).

Traveller Accommodation Programmes Midterm Review
The Traveller Accommodation Programmes are due for review from December 2021.
The Accommodation Working Group set up a subgroup to write a submission to the Traveller Accommodation Support Unit on the midterm review process. The final submission is available to read here

Internal Review for Evictions Subgroup
As agreed at the last AWG meeting, a subgroup has been formed on the Expert Review recommendation on local authorities establishing an internal review process for Travellers who face evictions from unofficial sites.
The insights from the group will form part of the NTACC Traveller organisations' submission to the programme board.
The subgroup will meet tomorrow, the 2nd of December at 3pm. Please let us know if you would like to join this subgroup.
