Scholarship Spotlight

Meet Lainey Allemand-Riles, a recipient of the Murrow College Scholarship Excellence Fund.

"With the scholarships I have received from the generous donors at Murrow College, I do not have to worry about taking on student loans for my tuition or class materials [this year]. This allows the money that I made while working this summer to cover my rent, utilities, and food for the year." Learn more about why Lainey chose a communication degree, what she hopes to accomplish after graduation and how scholarships support her in pursuing her dream of helping others.

Thank you to all of the donors to the Murrow College Scholarship Excellence Fund. This fund allows donors to make a collective impact by combining gifts of various sizes to support scholarships. This year over 80 donors supported 10 scholarship awards to students. Learn more about the Murrow College Scholarship Excellence Fund

RSVP to Our Alumni Homecoming Tailgate on Oct. 9

Register for this year’s Murrow College alumni tailgate! Join us for this year's Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 9, 2021, as WSU plays the Oregon State Beavers. Stop by Thompson Flats and Goertzen Hall to network with fellow alumni, take facility tours with Murrow student ambassadors, and hear from Murrow College leadership - all while playing yard games and enjoying snacks and beverages before cheering on the Cougs. We are excited to share that Paradise Creek Brewery will be catering our event.

The tailgate will start three hours before kick-off and end 30 minutes before kick-off. Look for us to share official times on Murrow College social media once game time is announced.

The Murrow tailgate will follow the same policy WSU Athletics implements for football games. We will require proof of vaccination for COVID-19 for fans over the age of 11. Those who are not vaccinated will need to show proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the event. Masks are required when in a building and encouraged while outside when social distancing is difficult.
