AN UPDATE OF THE EDWARD R. MURROW COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION
SUMMER 2021
Welcome Home, Murrow Cougs!
As we finish our first week of classes, we are so excited to have our Murrow Cougs in person across all WSU campuses for the fall 2021 semester! Check out the latest edition of Murrow Minutes Goes Virtual to hear Dean Bruce Pinkleton and Assistant Dean Sara Stout's welcoming message to our students.
RSVP to Our Alumni Homecoming Tailgate on Oct. 9
Register for this year’s Murrow College alumni tailgate! Join us for this year's Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 9, 2021, as WSU plays the Oregon State Beavers. Stop by Thompson Flats and Goertzen Hall to network with fellow alumni, take facility tours with Murrow student ambassadors, and hear from Murrow College leadership - all while playing yard games and enjoying snacks and beverages before cheering on the Cougs.
The tailgate will start three hours before kick-off and end 30 minutes before kick-off. We will forward the official game time when WSU Athletics announces it.
Celebrating the Launch of Murrow College's Media Mind Lab
Launching our Media Mind Lab is a highlight of being back on campus! The Media Mind Lab is a cutting-edge Media Psychophysiology and Neuroscience lab where we study the human brain as it responds to media content and technologies. Eye tracking, galvanic skin response, and facial muscle activity are just the beginning; we can measure all kinds of physiological responses!.
The lab is a new resource for faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students to conduct research that provides novel research insight into all forms of media content and technologies. Dr. Paul Bolls, Associate Dean of Research & Graduate Studies, is an expert in “Neuromarketing,” the industry application of research conducted in labs like the Media Mind Lab. He views the lab as a tremendous resource for students at all levels to enhance their Murrow education through research experiences and an incubator for exciting academic and industry research partnerships.
You can learn more about the Murrow College research programs and facilities here. Please follow #MurrowMinds and contact Dr. Bolls for information on Murrow College research and partnership opportunities.
