This Week at Faith Academy:
 April 3-7, 2017

Dear Faith Families,

Thank you for your volunteer service to get our campus in tip-top shape for this week's events. Everything looks (and smells) great! On Monday, we welcome the AdvanceED accreditation team that will be here through Tuesday to visit with parents, students, and staff as part of our re-accreditation process. Please extend a warm welcome to our visitors if you come across them on campus!

These last weeks of school continue to be exceptionally busy, and often stressful, especially, for our graduating seniors. My prayer is for us to be in constant communion with the Lord, and to remember His promises.  Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says, "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."

In the busyness of this season, let us focus on Him, and encourage one another. Have an incredible week!

In His Service and at yours,

Know. Grow. Go.

2017 Spring Spruce Up!
A few of us were able to get out last weekend and get the playground mowed, as well as the areas around the E, S, and early elementary buildings.
We have a lot of work still to be done to make the campus shine, the more help the better!  Tasks that need to be done:
  • Additional mowing in playground area
  • Trimming areas in playground area where mowers cannot access, including the sand volleyball pit, soccer goals, gaga pit
  • Weeding of flower beds
  • Weeding of gravel beds in the center of campus
  • Sweeping or blowing gravel off of sidewalks and back into gravel beds (center of campus)
  • Mowing the field between the football field and 143
Please help out where you can!  As you can see not all of the tasks require you to haul a mower to the school, and even the kids can help out with the weeding. For more information, please contact parent volunteer Mark Lunsford at 210.287.1525 or for more information.

It's Time to Order Your Yearbook: Order your Faith Academy 2016-2017 Yearbook today! If you have any questions or need assistance with ordering, please contact the school office at or 830.798.1333.

Elementary & Junior High News
JH Students Set to Compete in BotBall Tournament: Since 2007 Faith Academy students have competed in a program called Botball. Botball is an international robotics program that has teams of middle school and high school students who participate in competitive robotics. Our team is led by Faith Academy science teacher Barbara Parmeter. Even in the early years of Botball’s logged decade, the team won numerous  awards. And despite not placing in the top three teams every year, they achieved some hard earned Judge’s Awards.

The team members competing this year are Mitchell Elwartowski, Layton Pratt, Sarah Murphy, and Hannah Jordan ( 8th grade students); Danny Holland and Ben Wilson ( 7th grade students);  Brady Elwartowski and Bryce Holubec (6th grade students). Our 7th grade students have proven their skills invaluable for their next year, and our 6th grade students show serious promise. Though there is not a high school team at Faith, our 8th grade students are primed and ready to head out with a bang at next weekend's competition. Faith Academy is returning to the competition with pride having won 1st place overall in 2016. They hope to go for the gold again.

The 2017 Texas Regional Tournament is slated for Saturday, April 8th at the Westchester Academy for International studies in Houston. Come out to support the Faith Academy Botball Team this year!
