This Week at Faith Academy:
 March 20-25, 2017

Welcome back!  I hope everyone had a fun, restful, and safe Spring Break.

We have a busy few weeks ahead of us with field trips, Spring sports, graduation and college preparation, and much more. It's an exciting time to be on campus! Amidst all of the hustle and bustle, let's remember to take plenty of time in preparing ourselves for Easter through intentional prayer and thanksgiving in honor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a glorious time of year it is indeed!

In His Service and at yours,

Joe

Know. Grow. Go.

Testimonial: "As I look back on my elementary, junior high, and high school years it is very evident that God used Faith Academy to draw me closer to Him and ignite a passion for Him and His truth. Faith was the first time I was taught to grow in my knowledge of God. He isn't a far away mystical being, He is the one true God who lives in side every believer in the form of the Holy Spirit and we are called to grow deeper and deeper in knowledge of Him, not merely be passionate on the surface level. God has been so kind to reveal all of this to me, and He used Faith Academy as one of the primary sources."  Deanna Hoover - Class of 2010

Elementary & Junior High News
Faith Academy Celebrates Dr. Seuss: This week Faith Academy students joined other students across the nation in celebrating the birthday of beloved author Dr. Seuss by participating in Read Across America Day. Our very own Faith Academy Sparklers went to Bertram Elementary on a mission outreach where they read two Dr. Seuss books to the 2nd grade class. Mr. Rispoli even joined the celebration by reading a Dr. Seuss book to our 1st graders. Everyone had a great time honoring Dr. Seuss and enjoying their love of reading.

Faith Academy Kindergarteners Visit First Responders:
The Faith Academy Kindergarten class took a field trip to Marble Falls Fire Station and Air Evac 49. During their trip they learned about all of the ways our first responders help us. They were also able to see what kind of equipment these brave men and women use and to check out their amazing vehicles. “It was a very educational trip and they also had a lot of fun,” said Academic Supervisor Royann Williams. “We are so thankful for all of our first responders and the amazing work they do.”

7th Grade Field Trip to the Texas State Capitol a Big Success!
“I was honored to chaperone the Faith Academy 7th graders to the State Capital. State Representative Terry Wilson spent time teaching the students about what really happens at the Capital - we may have a few future politicians in this picture!” Shanna Murrell, Faith Academy parent.

Sophomore and Junior Students and Parents:  If you have not set up a meeting with Mrs. Poage to go over your PSAT results, please email her at npoagefamf@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.  This is a good opportunity to see your scores and to find ways to improve your PSAT and SAT scores for future testing.  We will also look at our wonderful college planning tool called Naviance that is free to all Faith Academy students.

Junior/Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 1st at 7:30PM to 11:30PM. Tickets will be available beginning March 8th and are $40 per student. Watch for flyers around campus with more details! Non-Faith Academy guests must be approved so pick up your form from the office now. As previously discussed, the dress code will be enforced. If you have any questions or need clarification on what is and is not acceptable, please contact Kim Hansard at spiritual@famf.org or 830.798.1333.
Faith Academy Golf Team on the Up Swing! "The Faith Academy Golf team has started practicing for its season and is working hard to get ready for the district tournament that will be held on April 17th in San Antonio. The girls' side is led by returning sophomores Emily Denton, Hattie Blair, Sterling Clowdus, and new comer, Kaliee Hair. The team is young but should be very competitive with Denton coming off a top 10 finish at the State Tournament as a freshman, and Blair had a strong showing at Regional's last year as a freshman. Clowdus and Hair are working hard to make this year’s team a good one. On the boys side, we only have freshman Truman Ross participating this year. Truman is doing a lot of work on his own to get ready as he is splitting his time between golf and baseball. I am excited to see what this young team can accomplish this year!" stated Coach Randy Denton.

Geometry Class Flies High!
"9th & 10th grade Geometry students had to research how to make a kite and be sure that it could fly for at least 30 seconds. This project concluded their study of quadrilaterals. The students were such good sports and did a fabulous job," said Mrs. Diane Wagner.
