The Infinity Insider
August 2018

The Infinity Insider is a monthly newsletter to all members of the Infinity family. We hope it allows you to get to know us better and to assist with staying up-to-date with all of the excitement.

A Note From Coach Mark

If it weren't for the date on my phone, I would not believe that it is August already - this summer is FLYING by!!!

We had a great July, including the craziness that Infinity Allstar Choreography brought to the gym. Thank you to ALL of our families for bearing with us during that time - thank you to our tumbling athletes and parents for accommodating the tight gym floor and lobby; thank you to the allstar parents for rearranging schedules, coordinating carpools, and keeping everyone fed and hydrated during the morning-to-night long hour days; and to our amazing athletes for staying focused and working their tails off!! All of our teams finished ahead of schedule with spectacular routines. We can't wait to show them to everyone. (Reminder: Save the Date for Premier - October 20.)

The end of August is always a challenge for athletes and coaches (and, I'm sure parents) as we all transition to a new schedule. Please be patient and remember that the early mornings and stress of school and homework affect everyone. It won't take us long to get our stride back - it happens every year - so please have faith and encourage your athletes to stay confident.

As bummed as I am to say 'Happy Back to School,' I am equally excited to get closer to the Season 10 Competition Season!!! We hope you all enjoy the last few weeks of summer.

Expand Your Cheer Vocabulary
An Arabesque.
In cheerleading, the arabesque is performed by the flyer in a stunt. The flyer balances all of her body weight on one leg with the other leg extended horizontally backward. The goal is to form a 90 degree angle between the back and raised leg. The arabesque is considered an intermediate level cheer skill, demanding a comprehensive understanding of basic cheerleading motions and techniques. In addition, a cheerleader must possess a balanced center, strength, flexibility, and poise for the execution of this stunt to be successful.
Meet Julia
Front Desk Assistant

Although Julia is new to the front desk, she has been part of the Infinity family for approximately six years. She started at Infinity as a tumbling athlete in middle school and then joined the Half-Year Prep Cheer team. From there, she spent five seasons on Allstar Cheer teams and was a Junior Tumbling Coach last year. In addition, she was a football cheerleader at Rocky River High School last year and plans to cheer football and basketball this year. Although its unsettling Julia isn't cheering for Infinity this season, we are thrilled to have her stay involved in the gym as our Front Desk Assistant. At the end of this month, Julia will begin her senior year at Rocky River High School and has her future eye set on studying Engineering at The Ohio State University.
