The Infinity Insider
July 2019

The Infinity Insider is a monthly newsletter to all members of the Infinity family. We hope it allows you to get to know us better and to assist with staying up-to-date with all of the excitement.

A Note From Coach Mark

We hope you enjoyed some extra time with family, friends, fun and sun as we finally got some summer weather!!

The summer is also a great time to place special focus on advancing skills. Conditioning, stretch and tumbling are the best ways to advance skills. Don't forget we have two Open Gym classes available each week and two Stretch & Strength classes, taught by Coach Kara.

If your athlete is a member of Unity, Envy, or Icon, please allow me to take a minute to remind you that there is mandatory choreography camp that will take place July 30-August 2. For those of you new to our allstar program, this is an intense, extremely challenging yet rewarding experience for us. This is when each team will learn the core of their 2019-2020 routine. Our choreographers, Brandon and Taji, are world-renown, and as such, we have limited time with them to pack everything in we need to accomplish. (See below for a repeat of the profile provided in the July 2018 newsletter.) Parents, please help us keep your athlete well rested, properly fed, and most of all, assist with their mental health. Brandon's style is a little more abrupt than ours but it's only because he has so much to do in such a little time. He loves us and our athletes and shares in our ups and downs with us remotely all season long!! We are so lucky to have him as an extension of our family.

Easy Summertime Recipes

Summer is finally here! And it always makes us think of delicious fresh food. What are your favorite fresh summer recipes?

Kabobs:
This recipe is awesome because you can make it your own. You'll need a bunch of veggies and meat of your choice (or go veggie-only). Peppers, onions, zucchini, mushrooms, squash, tomatoes and potatoes all work great.

Cut your veggies and your meat up into cubes that will fit on a skewer. Put everything in a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper. You'll want to use enough oil to make sure everything is coated. Want it a little spicier? Add some cayenne! Want even more summer flavor? Add some lemon juice. Italian dressing works as a great marinade. For even juicier meat, let it marinate overnight. Alternate veggies and meat on a metal or wooden kabob (if using wooden kabobs make sure they have been soaked in water for about 30 minutes otherwise they will burn).

Cook on preheated grill at 375 degrees. Meats will take about 12-15 minutes. Veggies 8-10 minutes.

DIY Popsicles:
Get out your blender and your popsicle molds! This recipe is so easy and you can have fun and make it your own! All you have to do is make a fruit smoothie and put it in the popsicle mold to freeze.

1-1/2 cup Orange Juice
3/4 cup Greek Yogurt
1 tablespoon Honey
2-1/2 cups Frozen Strawberries

Blend until smooth. Freeze in popsicle molds until firm.

Play around with this one and get kids involved!

Did You Miss the Allstar Parent Meeting?

During the mandatory Allstar Parent Meeting on June 18, we reviewed the Infinity 2019-2020 Playbook and discussed changes and updates to procedures. Due to the fact that so many families were not represented at the meeting, please read the Season 11 Playbook in detail for changes. After you and your athletes read the Playbook, we need athletes and parents to acknowledge these changes by signing/returning a Playbook Agreement Form. We need these forms completed and returned by July 15. The Playbook and form was sent in email on July 8.

During the summer we host several local middle school and high school cheerleading camps. Please join us in sharing our gym and welcoming these local athletes. (Pictured here Huron High School)
MEET BRANDON
Brandon Hale
Showtyme Productions Choreography
Brandon is from Alexandria, VA and currently lives in Greensboro, NC. With that said, during the summer he travels all over the country delivering amazing, unique allstar routines to cheer gyms. Infinity has had the privilege of being the recipient of Brandon's choreography for several years and Season 11 is no exception. Brandon will be here July 30-August 2 to create routines for Unity, Envy and Icon.

Brandon is truly an extension of the Infinity coaching staff and a member of our family. He shares in our ups and downs all season long and often is in warm-ups and out front with us cheering our teams on. (If you've seen the video of Icon from the 2019 D2 Summit Finals, he is the person standing and jumping from the VIP section.)
