It’s (almost) a short way to Dublin!

The Academic and Research Libraries (ARL) Section of IFLA focuses on cooperation, exchange of information, and promotion and support of the role of libraries as core institutions for research and education worldwide.

Who (famously) are we?

The ARL Section Committee is an active and engaged team of 21 library professionals across all continents.
We are proud that our member Vicki McDonald has just been elected President-elect of IFLA.

Webinar proceedings are up!

Our June webinar focused on Research Ethics in an Open Research Environment with four experienced presenters from New Zealand, Singapore, Turkey and the US. You can now access the related video and slides.

Blog flow keeps you in touch

Our lively blog offers (at least) monthly diverse news and views from academic and research librarians around the world.

The latest topics include LIBER announcement, “Libraries in Dublin” and “Writing Open Access Policies”:

Winners go to Dublin

The winners of the 2022 Travel Grants, kindly sponsored by Ex Libris and SAGE, are Roana Flores (Philippines), Danitza Noemi Coronel Tola (Bolivia) and Jerry Mathema (Zimbabwe). This will be their first IFLA Congress. Looking forward to seeing them in Dublin!

Dublin Hot Topics session

We received an overwhelming response to our call for proposals for lightning talks to be presented in-person at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress in Dublin.

The theme is: Truth, Evidence and Memory: Academic Libraries as Cultural Rights Defenders. The session will be held on Thursday 28, 8:30 AM CEST. The final Congress programme, with details of our Hot Topics speakers, is available here.

Our webinar catalogue

The ARL Section Committee has been delivering topical webinars to the academic and research library community for the past three years. We will start planning the next series soon. Stay on alert for further details.

See our web site for a complete list of all ARL webinars. The recordings of most of these webinars are freely available on our YouTube channel, while the slides can be viewed on SlideShare.
