Representative Holt's Message

Since being elected, I have had the opportunity to speak with Administrators of the public schools in our district.  With an open ear, we have continued to collaborate with the sole benefit of our community, working towards providing our schools with the resources they need to successfully educate the youth of our future.  Additionally, participation with community organizations such as the recent community cleanup with the Chinatown Improvement District has provided me additional opportunity to get into the community hands on and personally work with community members towards improvement
A great example of community involvement is with a recent bill I introduced that is vitally important to our district, HB 653, HD1 relating to weed and seed strategy. The support for this bill and the response requesting the bill be heard by the House Judiciary Committee was gratifying as the community took an active part in participating in the legislative process.  This, again emphasizes the significance and importance of community involvement as reducing crime in our neighborhoods is a priority of concern.
The course of action is coming together, learning from and inspiring each other, working together towards solutions and taking action.
