In The Vine with Vicky and Chuck

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love” 1 John 4:8

How many times have you heard people say that they have nothing of real value to offer in service to the Lord? In this issue of The Vine, I would like to address the subject of doing something that matters – something that God is passionate about when it comes to His children and how they live for Him.

Once we receive Yeshua/Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become members of His body. And just like a human body, each member or part is necessary for the body to function at its fullest potential. For this to happen, though, the body must be healthy and working in the manner designed by our Creator.

1 Corinthians 12:3 says that no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. Following this to its logical conclusion for me means that any person believing that Jesus is the Son of God must have Holy Spirit working in their lives, no matter what we see happening on the outside. And if Holy Spirit is at work in someone, obviously the work is not finished and clearly not ready to be judged.

When Paul penned the words to the church in Corinth 2000 years ago, he was trying to help them understand that every member (or person) in the body of Christ is important. I believe that many in the body of Christ need to be refreshed and encouraged in this understanding today.

Paul goes on to say in chapter 13 that any gift a person has been given is of no value for that person if he or she doesn’t have LOVE. In other words, perhaps we could say that no matter how gifted, how talented, hardworking, educated, scripturally knowledgeable or generous a person is doesn’t matter, if they leave love out of the equation. We must apply love to every area of our lives….

The greatest sacrifice was Jesus dying on the cross.

The greatest gift is eternal life that our Father offers to all that believe in Him.

The Greatest Gift
Thank you, Lord, for the greatest gift
that I could ever hope to receive
You have promised eternal life
and all that we must do is believe
Thank you, Lord, for revealing things
that I never quite understood before
You have opened my eyes now I see
All the simple truth that lives in your Word

No longer will I thirst
‘cause I've got living water from within
When I need help to understand
The Spirit of Truth leads me by the hand
And He comforts me

you, Lord, for reaching out
You took me from the dark
and you put me in your light

Thank you, Lord, for the greatest gift

You have promised me eternal life

Thank you, Lord

"There is therefore, now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death." (Rom.8:1-2)

Hallelujah! This would have to be one of the most revealing, powerful, uplifting messages in Scripture.

Paul brings to our attention in chapter 4 what David said in Psalm 32:1-2
”BLESSED are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered! BLESSED is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin."

I KNOW that there are many believers "out there" who live in constant condemnation because of their past sinful, often wicked life, and the "lawless deeds' which they have committed. I KNOW what it feels like, because for years I also felt, and believed, that God could NOT have possibly forgiven me, because of the same sinful acts committed over and over again, and the thought that nobody could ever have been as "bad" as I was. I truly believed that the God of Scripture who was so holy, so righteous, so pure, and demanded such holiness and righteousness from us could not forgive me - ever. I thought of Him almost as a bully, who possibly wished I wasn't around, and would beat me up with His big stick for even daring to wake up in the morning. My Bible spoke of Him as being loving and forgiving, but Satan kept me in bondage to my belief that God could NEVER forgive me....and therefore I could not forgive myself either. I lived in torment and dread of my past. I felt SO unworthy of Him, I could not believe He could EVER forgive this sinner! I dragged my past around like a truck drags its determined my days, and my future because I could not SEE, let alone FEEL, or SENSE God's forgiveness. Do YOU?

It was God's mercy taking me DEEP into Chapter 15 of Luke that truly showed me God's forgiveness and love for me. Those three little stories that Jesus painted such a POWERFUL word-picture of His love for us. The first - the lost sheep, speaking of our Shepherd who cares so much for even ONE lost lamb that He would put himself into danger from predators in the dark night to go looking for that one lamb, FROZEN in terror, to bring it back to the fold, bonding that lamb to Him by lying it across His shoulders. Then there was one lost coin......of such value to its owner that she would search EVERYWHERE for it, even in the darkest corners her broom would enter until it was found! SO MUCH REJOICING! - over ONE SINNER SAVED! Then we read of the prodigal son, who, having known his Father and having lived in his Father's house decided he didn't want to any more....he wanted to go and party and live like the world - until he realized how empty and unfulfilling it was - there was NOTHING in the world that could give him more than what he had HAD in his Father's house. And now he had nothing! Just like us all when we turn away from God's goodness. But there was a welcome waiting for him back home, if he would only come to the end of himself, step out in faith and take hold of it....he needed to walk it out, and when he did, his Father was waiting for him with NO condemnation (Rom.8:1) and a welcoming party - just like the parties after the lost sheep and the lost coin were RESTORED TO GOD! MY sins, YOUR sins are TRULY forgiven....there is therefore now NO condemnation to us who are in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!

There have been a number of our brothers and sisters in Christ who have messaged or emailed me regarding ways to connect with others who are interested in being part of an ‘Acts 1’ community. They feel called to be in an environment where others of like mind are in near proximity, for many reasons. Considering the conditions of the world today and especially considering that Father said we are to connect with others in His family, we want to make it possible for people to find each other!

There are followers of Yeshua/Jesus all around the world who are hungry to fellowship and live near other believers, but they are having a hard time making those connections. If this is something you are interested in being part of, whether as one who wants to help facilitate this ministry, or are looking for the same thing, please email me at and include the word “Relocate/Facilitate in the subject line. Also, please include your location. The more specific you are, the better the chances of finding someone near you.

We do NOT have a huge list of people looking into this right now, but if only 2 families end up finding each other, that is a blessing.

We’re praying our way through this and want to find out if anyone in ‘This Little Corner of Father’s Vineyard’ wants to be involved. Thanks for being here! We love you all!!!
