In The Vine with Vicky and Chuck

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39

…It Pours!” And so the saying goes…

Welcome to this month’s issue of The Vine, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. We’re grateful that you allow us the blessing of spending time with you through our newsletter, and we look forward with great anticipation to the day when we will meet one another face to face. Can you imagine the celebration that will be?! What a joyful thing to look forward to!

For now, though…here we are…dust…sitting in the dust…looking out over a world that’s lost its mind! We see and hear the ‘mudslinging’ contests everywhere! But even as the nations are rising against each other, the hurricanes are swirling, the earthquakes are quaking and the whole earth is shaking…WE WILL NOT BE MOVED! Our Father chose each of us for this time - intentionally - and equips us with every needful thing to accomplish all we’ve been sent here to do. He didn’t forget to ‘pack us a lunch’ for the trip, either. We feed on the blessed Gift of His Spirit because of the priceless Gift of His Son. He said, “Taste and see that the Lord is good!” And oh! He IS! HE IS!!!

Sometimes we may just need the reminder of Who He IS - His power, His love, His might, His goodness - so that we can be renewed in our hope in Him. Sometimes the storms we face in our relationships, our health, our families seem to be more than we would ever have imagined possible, and yet…they come. Like a blinding downpour from a cloud we didn’t even see above us. We need our umbrellas…our raincoats…our waders…

We need our Dad…Our Father…Our Lord…Our God.

And He is right here with us! Wherever we are! Whatever we’re facing! He is the Umbrella that covers us, our Comforter that clothes us, our Peace that keeps our feet dry as we walk through the mud in this world. He is Everything we need and more than we can imagine. He is The Lord God Almighty - Maker of Heaven and Earth - and He is MIGHTY TO SAVE!!!

So as we hear the thunder coming and see the lightning strikes, I believe He wants us all to remember that yes, He is good and wise and filled with compassion for His children. And oh yes…He has all the equipping we need. He covers us with His Everlasting Love and lifts us up when the raging floodwaters come to drown us in sorrow, hopelessness or despair. He is GOOD and His mercy endures FOREVER!!! Glory to GOD in the Highest!!!

My prayer for all of His people is that we will come to the true realization of how much our Father loves us, how faithful He has been to provide for and equip us, how gracious and forgiving, how righteous and Holy He is…and how He has no intention of letting us be stripped from His righteous right hand. Nothing can separate us from His love! So we walk on through the rain - the pouring rain of this world with all of the rebellion and sin - and we never forget the umbrella of His love is with us always - even unto the ends of the earth!

We are praying for all of you and for all of those who are going through the terrible storms of life - whether physical or spiritual. Our confidence is and must remain in our Father, no matter what we see. We will endure to the end, beloved ones. We will hold tightly to our God and endure the storms - no matter when, where or how they come.

Sending lots of love to each of you, in the name of our beloved Savior, Yeshua/Jesus - the Christ!

Sharing a favorite chapter from the Bible this month. Chuck will return next issue with another Anecdote.

Romans 8 - KJV

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What’s New?

Sunday Afternoons…

Over the last few months, we’ve been blessed with meeting some of our subscribers and ministry followers who are precious family in Christ. We’re seeing wonderful connections being made with brothers and sisters in Christ from areas around the US, UK, Germany, and South Africa. It’s been an enormous blessing to meet some of you in our weekly online gathering on Sunday afternoons (USA time) and to see those relationships begin to blossom and grow. We discuss whatever Holy Spirit has for us to discuss in those encounters, and Father has brought encouragement and teaching, prophecy and wisdom as we have shared with one another the love of our Father. The Leadership Team will be responsible for facilitating the meetings, and breakout rooms will be set up to give everyone opportunities to share in a more intimate setting for discussions. If you would like to join us, please reach out to Kacy (info below) and she will send you the link you need to participate in the meetings. We would love to see you there!

We are so blessed that our Prayer Teams Ministry Leader, Teresa Davis, has been making the prayers and praise videos for our online family. Teresa’s humility and love for the Lord are so evident - and her heart for His people is solid. She is the perfect person to be leading our prayer ministry and we’re so happy that she is willing to get in front of the camera to share the requests, scriptures and testimonies that not only are sent to her by our subscribers, but that come from her life as well. Teresa is bilingual, with English as her first language and Spanish (or ‘Spanglish’, as she says) and will be incorporating both languages into the prayer videos. We’re blessed to have this tender-hearted/fierce warrior for Christ leading the teams…and we are deeply appreciative of those who are on the teams and their faithfulness to lift up this ministry and all those associated with it in any way. If you would like to join one of the prayer teams, contact Teresa and she will make it happen. Thank you, Teresa “Harvest” and Teams! We love you all!!!

"They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work..... For we ourselves were also once FOOLISH, DISOBEDIENT, DECEIVED."(Titus 1:16., Titus 3:3)

We can go back in time to the very first instance of rebellion, and it wasn't on earth, it was God's most beautiful archangel, Lucifer, lifted up in pride, thinking that he could be God's equal, he decided to do HIS thing, instead of the will of God. Was he alone? No, when God cast him down to earth in the form of the devil, or Satan, he took 1/3 of the angels with him. Rebellion and disobedience can be catching! So we look out on the world today and see the whole world has rejected the supremacy of God for the supremacy of man and has shaken their fist at God because HIS WILL IS NOT ENOUGH FOR PRIDEFUL MAN TODAY! Adam and Eve decided to "do their own thing" and disobey God's SO simple command. It was not complicated, and it was not hard - they had plenty to eat and didn't NEED to eat the fruit of "that" tree. But as Satan works so well, he whispered "Oh, God didn't REALLY mean that.....You won't die! But you WILL benefit from eating it because you will GAIN Godly KNOWLEDGE!" We have SO MANY examples of the consequences of disobedience and rebellion, but we STILL are hard-headed and stubbornly want our OWN way! "Oh, God loves me and won't least, just a little bit!" and we do what we want.

I was reading 1 Sam.15 last night how Saul was told to DO something by God through the prophet Samuel. Saul received the command and went about accomplishing what he was told to do. God had a very good reason for His command to kill Agag and ALL his people and animals because of the great evil that was present in them. However, instead of carrying out to the "T" exactly the order that God gave him, he decided to do what his army chose to do. This is exactly what SO MANY Christians do today - they listen to man when they KNOW what God has instructed them to do, CLEARLY. But they think it is OK to modify God's command and that God will accept their disobedience with a wink because their "intentions were good."

"But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal."(v.21)

He blamed everyone else but himself and JUSTIFIED what they had all done by claiming they were going to sacrifice it all to Samuel's God anyway! Saul WAS King, after all, and his command was "law" - he could have prevented this all from happening but he was more concerned about "public opinion" and was a man-pleaser rather than a God-pleaser! Samuel's reply we really need to keep in remembrance....

“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. For REBELLION IS AS THE SIN OF WITCHCRAFT! - and STUBBORNNESS IS AS INIQUITY AND IDOLATRY! Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” (v.22-23)

We want to hang onto OUR opinions, OUR attitudes and mindsets, OUR ideas and way of doing things! WE refuse to surrender our wills to God's, but God's blessing will NOT be on this - it is rebellion. What did Saul say to Samuel? - “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I FEARED THE PEOPLE and OBEYED THEIR voice." Then he thought his confession would wipe out God's wrath. He blamed the people instead of taking responsibility for his OWN decision-making. And that is exactly what people do. Sound familiar? And God took Saul's throne from him and gave it to David!

God says to us today..."TRUST ME! Believe MY WORD and OBEY IT! Obey MY still, small VOICE and NOT the voice of man! Do NOT fear man and what man can do to you, fear ME and what I can do to your eternal soul if you choose to walk in disobedience!"

Man has created a religion that no longer believes the Scriptures to be the Truth! Are those who believe this CALLING GOD A LIAR? This BOOK of LIFE that was given to us as our handbook of life, which reveals the heart, the mind, the will and purpose of God will still be truth when this world has passed away! Jesus Himself came not to do His OWN will, but to do the will of His Father.....and we think that WE don't need to walk in obedience to Him? REBELLION is as the sin of witchcraft! Saul discovered this to his dismay, and he and his son, not long after, were killed in battle. He was God's anointed, but he was more concerned about what the people wanted than what God wanted.

We can choose to obey Him and walk in life and in peace and in hope, or we can choose to stand our ground and disobey what we KNOW God has spoken to us but the result will end in death and the eternal destruction of our soul. Choose life. The Gate is NARROW, the path difficult that leads to life, but HIs grace is sufficient for us.

"He who says, “I know Him,” and does NOT keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him."(1 John 2:4-5. Read also John 14:15,21,23)

My heart is hurting today for those that are hurting. For those facing the storms of life, and those that will be walking through them in-the future.

BUT it just hit me when I noticed today who Jesus describes being BLESSED people in a way that doesn’t coincide with what that world has us believe who is “blessed”.

“And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus says blessed are the ones that are poor in spirit, those that mourn, the meek, those that hunger and thirst for righteousness, merciful, the peacemakers, and those who are persecuted for His name’s sake.

It’s crazy how the world has us thinking we are “too blessed to be stressed”, and can’t be bothered by anyone or anything. Or we are “blessed” when our finances and our health are good. When our family and the things we hold dearly are doing good. What happens if all that is swept away in the storms of life? Would we still consider ourselves blessed if all that is gone?

Friends, if Jesus you are blessed, even when you don’t feel like you are at that moment of suffering, believe him. His promises and words are true.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

Will you pray with me…

Thank you for another day Lord in which you present us another opportunity to seek you wholeheartedly. I ask that you help us put you at the center of our lives, because you gave us the existence to live on this earth as foreigners, and are teaching us how to walk in your ways through your commandments. Give us ears to hear, eyes to see, and a heart for You! Psalm 119 has much to meditate on and take time to process all you want to teach us. Times are getting darker and darker and I pray that Your Light shines brighter and brighter every day in our lives and in the lives of our families, friends, and also those who harm us, and cities, and nations all over the world. We thank you today and always my Lord and savior, my shepherd, Jesus, Amen.

It has been a while since I last wrote, so greetings. I trust this finds you all in faith, trusting our Father in whatever circumstance you find yourself in. I would like to share something today about "Faith and Trusting." Sometimes I think we can get a little confused about faith and what it is?

In its simplest form, it means TRUST, to trust in. Some people put their trust in the ‘Word of God’ which is good, very good, but it can become a formula of belief instead of based on an "intimate personal trust"! Don’t get me wrong, when God gives His word, it can be totally trusted in, it will accomplish exactly what He said it would do.

Now what is my point in talking about this? Well, first, what is the goal of Redemption? Why were you saved? From whom and from what? This is a loaded question that many do not understand or are unwilling to accept.

1 Thessalonians 1:10. “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

Rom 5:9. “Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we are saved from wrath through Him”

Rom 5:10 “For if, when we were ‘Enemies’"....

When we were what?? Enemies? You say, no way not me I never was God’s enemy?

Col 1:21. And YOU, who is you? You that’s who - no exception - You are who he, Paul is talking about.... “That were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.”

Okay, so we had to establish this point- you were saved from the ‘wrath of God’. This is one of the foundational teachings of Christ:

Heb 6:1-2. “Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ; let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from the dead works, and of faith towards God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of "ETERNAL judgment." (God’s wrath).

Jesus himself taught these things. John the Baptist framed this well.

Luke 3:7 “O generation of vipers who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come....”

Of course, here he was speaking to the corrupt religious leaders. None the less, the leaders knew of the wrath of God to come! Okay I think we can see this now. We were saved from the ‘wrath of God’ so we were saved from God - from His Wrath! (You see God is Holy, Just, Pure and Righteous and if He didn’t judge Sin, he would be unjust, and unrighteous). Sin is under the judgement of God.

So then who saved us? Jesus, you say? Yes, He did, but God saved you from Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ.

2 Cor 5:19. “To wit (to this end) God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself - not imputing their trespasses against them. God himself saved you from His own wrath.”

Oh, hold up here you say! I never heard that before. Well, now you have. He poured out His wrath on His own Son to save you! So, if the Father would trade His beautiful Son, perfect Son for you.... He must have a high value for you!

Can we agree on that? You have a very "HIGH" value to God your creator, so if the Father went through so much just for (YOU) who were his enemies. What does that say about his character? He is ‘trustworthy’, He is ‘merciful’, He is ‘kind’, He is ‘long-suffering’ HE IS FOR YOU!

Eph 1:5. “Having predestined us into the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to HIMSELF, according to the good pleasure of His will.”

He wanted you to be His own child, not a child of creation, not a child of the Kingdom alone, although that comes with it. According to the good pleasure of HIS WILL. Now are you ready for this verse?

Ephesians 1:6. “To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted (highly favoured) in the beloved.”

Wow you are Highly Favoured!

Listen saints, this whole thing called "Life" is His plan not ours. He created everything for His purpose. What am I saying? Why did we just go through all this explanation? To say this.... your faith is to be in Him, the person of God, the giver of the Word. Yes, you can trust His word, but if your faith is only in His word and not anchored in Him who gave the word; you will end up using the word as a ‘formula’ instead of trusting in your Fathers goodness to lead you by the Holy Spirit. The goal of the word is to be lead of the Spirit.

2 Corinthian 3:6 “Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit; for the letter killeth, but the spirit gives the life.”

The word shows you how the Father thinks, what He likes and doesn’t like. So, you can know the leading of His Spirit in every situation in life. Remember the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He is Gods Spirit, in essence, He is God with you and for you and in you! So, He desires your faith to be in Him, first and foremost. He is looking for a relationship based on trust in Him no matter what happens in your life. So, the remedy is, learn to Trust the one who gave the word. Trust in His character. Remember

Ephesians 1:5. “He chose you according to the good pleasure of His will.”

The "Goal of your Faith" is to know HIM more intimately Your trust in Him, should bring you into a closer relationship with Him, not just His word! When people read a book that catches their imagination and their feelings, they rave about that story. How much greater would it be to know the author of that story and to become closely connected to the author. To know why He wrote that great story and have insight into his mind as to why he wrote what he did. How much more valuable and precious to be given the opportunity to come closer to the author of your Life; through faith, coming to trust in the giver of the word.

So, if things seem overwhelming and you don’t know what to do and His word seems distant and cold - the Father is not distant and cold (He will always be with you). Jesus said I will never leave you or forsake you. Our Father is always guiding and making a way, showing himself afresh every day that He is a GOOD Father. He is God - 100% always in everything - He is the Way; the word was given to lead you closer to Him and is life to our flesh and refreshing to our soul. Why? Because we know the one who gave His word so because we know Him, we trust Him who is beyond reproach. He is God who is our Father, therefore everything He does for us is out of His Love for YOU - His Child, His Son, His Daughter.

Finally, to summarize - what were you saved from? Eternal separation from God with an opportunity to partake in an intimate personal relationship with the God of all creation who calls you Son or Daughter. So, the ultimate goal of your faith, is to know Him!

“What is the Secret Place?”

Grace and Peace to you beloved of the Father.

In last month’s edition of The Vine (September issue), I wrote about what it means to be “Righteous”, and the foundation of this truth that we all need to grasp hold of to move into a solid and deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father.

If you haven’t read it, please click the link at the bottom of this month’s newsletter to ensure we are laying the proper foundation. The purpose of this message is not so you end up feeling like you are ‘missing the mark’ because you don’t believe or know if you have entered this “secret place”. I trust that as you read this full article each month, it will encourage you to live and learn to abide with Him daily.

Our Heavenly Father loves you and desires to commune and fellowship with you! Our Secret Place is abiding with Him!! This is a journey dear family… may we all yearn and desire to want to “Know Him more”. Our relationship and communion with the Father is the most important part of our faith. This sweet communion and time spent with our Heavenly Father, often referred to as “The Secret Place” is a place where our heart and soul become deeply satisfied to know him and be in fellowship with Him.

The secret place is where we learn to sense His presence and hear Him speak to us. Amazing things happen when we take time to spend time with the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Our ‘Secret Place’ with the Father is where revelation is birthed, where healing can take place and deliverance happens. This is where our hearts can be refreshed, and joy restored. The time that we spend with Father in our secret place with HIM… gives Him opportunity to invade our soul with His peace. The secret place is birthed from ‘living in fellowship’ with your Heavenly Father through the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It is all about learning to ‘Abide’ with them.

Once you understand and acknowledge you are “Righteous” because of what Jesus has done for you, then you can choose to live daily in “right standing” with your beloved Heavenly Father. So… guilt, shame, and every other emotion that wants to keep you from running into your Father’s arms can be set aside as you choose to come and sit with HIM.

The secret place is not something you just DO to be spiritual - it is a relationship you have forged through spending time with your Heavenly Father.

When I first became “Born Again” and filled with the Holy Spirit - I was introduced to Jesus who was my Saviour. I was suddenly so aware of being loved by my God. I felt valued, and my world became alive in a very new way! When people use the term, ‘I was born again’, that is exactly what happens. We are a three part being: Spirit, Mind (Will and Emotions) and Body. My Spirit was DEAD (separated from LIFE Himself). When I invited and desired Jesus to come and be LORD of my life - my Spirit became alive and given LIFE, and so began my journey of developing my relationship with the Lord, my Father and hearing His Spirit speak to me.

To all of you brothers and sisters who wish you could truly know you are abiding in the secret place or wish you could ‘hear more clearly’ what the Lord is saying, I hope you will follow along each month as we unravel more of how the Father is longing to sit and speak with you. To encourage your hearts, I will share what I heard the Father say to me about this:

“Daughter those who know me, know me not just by name, for they have forged their relationship with me in the secret place. The place where pain, suffering and joy and laughter have taken place. Those who hear my voice have spent time listening and enquiring.”

Psalm 91:1,2 says, “He who dwells in the ‘secret place’ of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust!”

Matthew 6:5-7 is “the Model Prayer”. Matt 6:6 says,

“But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

The secret to entering into and abiding in this ‘secret place’ begins with Psalm 46:10,

“Be still and know that I am God.”

You alone are the one who governs your time, so you get to choose when and how much time you will spend with HIM!
