Power Grid begins tonight!

We mentioned this event last month
from our colleague at The Dramatists Guild, Jenna Chrisphonte, Director of Community Engagement.

In response to the tragic Hurricane Maria destruction, The Dramatists Guild is sponsoring a Puerto Rican Theater Festival in New York in collaboration with the Cherry Lane Theatre, July 10 - 14, 2018.  The intention is to provide an opportunity for Puerto Rico-based playwrights to speak to their current devastation and loss.

As of the end of May 2018, ABC News reported on the sad reality that many still live without access to electricity, more than six months after the hurricane: Watch the story HERE.

We've been fortunate to have former Blackboard features telling stories of how Blackboard came into their lives and in what way they were supported on their journey as a writer by their feature.

Check out what Jordan E. Cooper had to say.  You'll remember Jordan from his February 2017 Feature of "Ain't No 'Mo", which went on to have a workshop production at The Public Theatre this past spring.

He'll have a full run this upcoming spring 2019 at The Public Theatre as well.

We are so proud of Jordan for his continued success and are proud to have been part of the development journey for "Ain't No 'Mo"
