It's Teacher Appreciation Week! Don't Forget To #ThankATeacher
To show our appreciation, the PTSA is hosting an "After Derby Luncheon" for our teachers on May 11 in the library, starting around 10:30am, to accommodate AP testing. With the assistance of Ms. Raley, students will prepare some of the luncheon. We need food items donated, and volunteers to set up, serve and clean up. Sign up:
Welcome New SBDM Parent Representative Marian Vasser

Congratulations to Marian Vasser who was elected to serve as SBDM Council Parent Representative for the 2018-2020 term. Visit our SBDM page to learn more about Marian, or meet her at our next PTSA meeting on May 16. Thank you to all who took the time to vote for this important role.
There will be a PTSA General Meeting on May 16 at 8:30am in the senior cafeteria. The Executive Board slate for the 2018-19 school year will be presented for vote. We still have a few volunteer board positions to fill (Communications, Reflections Chair, Scholarship Chair, Historian, Alumni Service Corps). Email Nominating Chair Kate Chandler to learn more.
Trish Kline Honored with Kentucky PTA Life Recognition Award
Presenter Ryan Kline: She is always working on something PTSA-related, whether it’s the membership drive, CCC, decorating for Red/White Week, College 101 Night, volunteering at CAP, serving food at the teacher appreciation lunch, filling the board pipeline for next year or helping in the front office, she is an awesome multi-tasker. My mom is a doer and puts 150% effort into everything she touches. She wholeheartedly believes in the values and mission of the PTSA, and has spent the last 12 years embodying those. She has a truly unique gift for motivating and connecting with people. Helping teachers, parents and students has been her lifelong passion.

Presenter Barbara CoffieldTrish has a long history of PTA service with Dunn Elementary, Meyzeek Middle School, and duPont Manual. Trish doesn’t fill just one role at a time either. From leading our award-winning membership drives - which kick off in the summer and involve planning, execution, incentives, reminders, communication, and administrative reporting, to training and coordinating volunteers for the CCC, to leading the nominating committee, Trish takes on the jobs no one steps up for beautifully. Year after year. With a smile. With enthusiasm. I cannot imagine anyone more deserving than Trish for this recognition.
Congrats to the 2018 PTSA Scholarship Recipients:

Johanna Murray, Ryan Kline, Trinity Wilson, Catalina Mansilla, Greg Schwartz
Congratulations to Aditya Mehta, Agharnan Gandhi, Mark Raj, Jake Powell, and Pranav Senthivel for 6th place at the national Academic World Quest competition!
