Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday in Asia and it falls on Sunday, 1/22 this year. We will celebrate it at the zen center by extending regular Sunday session from 1 sit to 3 sits starting at 9 am, plus a special reading from the Lotus sutra.
Following zazen will bethe Gate of Sweet Nectar ceremony (in-person only), typically offered on the new moon day each month. This chant calls out to all those who are lost and left behind, those who hunger and thirst, including those parts of ourselves that we think of as insufficient and lacking. In this ceremony we offer all of them the bodhi mind of love, wisdom, and transformation. “Gather ’round and share this meal; your joy and sorrow, I make it mine.”
The center will remain open until noon for participants to check out books from our library or just to chat with each other.
**All our offerings are supported by your generous donations. We accept cash, checks and PayPal.
