From Returning to Silence
By Katagiri Roshi

The experience of enlightenment is important for us, but it is not enough. Again and again that enlightenment must become more profound, until it penetrates our skin, muscle and bone.

Zen group study

We are starting to read the following two books recommended by our spiritual friend from the Upaya Zen Center in Santa Fe. There are many used copies in good condition you can purchase, both online or at your local used book store.

We would love to get your feedback on your learnings from these books.

1) Training in Compassion by Norman Fischer
https://www.goodreads.com/…/show/15792605-training-in-compa…#

We are planning to start a weekly study group on this book this spring.

2) Living by Vow: A Practical Introduction to Eight Essential Zen Chants and Texts
by Shohaku Okumura
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13239373-living-by-vow…

This is a must-have treasure for Zen study and to support your practice.
