Open Road Special Cal-LEV Edition

Cal-LEV comments due October 30 — or Colorado could become Californicated

California emissions proponents have spoken out.

Have you?

We’ll say this much about proponents of California vehicle emissions standards: They know how to make their voices heard.

Hundreds and hundreds of them have already contacted our state’s Air Quality Control Commission to support the adoption of the California vehicle standards in Colorado. In fact, they want the commission to go even further, adding even more unrealistic electric-vehicle mandates.

So the question is: Are we going to let them dominate the debate? Or, are we going to speak out just as loudly against the California standards, which will raise the cost of new vehicles in Colorado by thousands of dollars?

The time to take action is now

If you haven’t already commented to the Air Quality Control Commission, please visit DontCalifornicate.CO  today. And please encourage your colleagues, suppliers, employees, friends and neighbors to do the same.

Our online form makes it easy to comment in just a couple of minutes by offering key points you can use. You don’t have to be an expert on the issue; you just need to believe that:
  • One-size-fits-all California standards aren’t a good fit for the unique driving demands of Colorado.
  • Coloradans, not unelected California bureaucrats, are in the best position to decide what type of new vehicle they need.
The window for public comments closes on Oct. 30, the day before Halloween. (The California emissions standards would definitely qualify as a “trick” not a “treat” for Colorado drivers AND car dealers.)

Please act now and encourage others to do the same to preserve Coloradans’ freedom to drive.

We can’t afford this misguided proposal.
