for an agency collaboration meeting for Willand Dr. Emergency Warming Center
Monday Nov 14th at noon we will be convening agencies interested in helping to support individuals that will be utilizing the Dr. Emergency Warming Center of Strafford County on Willand Dr. in Somersworth.
Areas we are hoping to provide high level brainstorming for support on:
Support with connecting individuals to more permanent housing and longer term shelter.
On-site medical support
Contingency planning for COVID-19
onsite Covid-19 and Flu shots
COVID-19 testing and PPE supports
Food donations and nutritional support for dinners, breakfasts and snacks.
Connections on-site and off-site for behavioral health and mental health supports.
Peer based recovery and mental heath supports
Harm Reduction supports and services
Support with volunteers and paid per-diem staffing
Our goal will be to brainstorm ideas and then create working sub-committees that will be mobilized to provide the most comprehensive supports we can put together with the support of our local private and non-profit agencies as well as faith based organizations.

We have an urgent need for multiple full-time, part-time or per-diem awake overnight positions. Shifts will vary in four to twelve hour blocks of shifts starting at 4 and 5pm in the evenings until 9-10am in the morning. If you are interested in working 1-2 shifts a week as a volunteer or in a paid per-diem position please contact us or apply. Please share widely within your networks. Individuals with experience in managing or supervising shelter operations also needed. These are guaranteed full time leadership positions through April 2023 and we hope to have ongoing opportunity working within our harm reduction and recovery programs beyond April.

What is needed?
Help in the Warming Center in 4-8 hour shifts from 4pm on activation days until 10am in the morning.
Greeting individuals as they arrive and helping with brief intakes.
Offering some overnight support staffing help.
Love cribbage? or chess? or card games? We have some tremendous people who would love your company overnight!
Support with cleaning and upkeep of the facility
Making indoor and outdoor rounds to be sure the facility is safe and checking on our participants.
Support coordinating of food donations and/or food preparation
Experience cooking for large numbers? We will have the Red's Good Vibes trailer and we have a few serv-safe training certificates. We'd love someone to support planning and cooking of meals (breakfast and dinner).
Help with laundry during the day or in the evening.

M-F 12pm-4pm (open to the public)
