The Introit for today begins with an admonition from the first verse from Psalm 47: “O clap your hands.”

That Psalm has been set to music by many composers. On the page for today’s liturgy, I’ve found performances of 5 of these, from 16th-century Venice to a piece composed in 2018 for the King’s Singers.

These motets are a wonderful case in point of how our praise of God is a great source of joy.

Happy listening!
