The Psalm we will chant together this Wednesday is Psalm 29. You can listen to a recording of the chant here.

As our recessional hymn, we will once again sing “O gladsome light.” In the interest of learning to sing it more confidently, you can hear the Cambridge Singers perform it on this page. The page also includes a link to a pdf of the music, just in case you don’t have a Hymnal at home.

As that page also explains, “O gladsome light” is based on an ancient Greek hymn, dating to the late 3rd or early 4th century. The webpage also presents an alternate translation of the hymn by John Keble, one of the leading figures of the Oxford Movement.

See you Wednesday,

Ken Myers
