Today at The Living Room, we had Ken & Sheila Robinson from Hucknall Tourism and Regeneration Group share a talk with us, all about Hucknall's heritage and how much our town has to offer through tourism. They are also looking to celebrate the end of WW1 by decorating the town with knitted and crocheted poppies. If you would like to contribute a poppy, please read the poster below.

This Saturday, there is a Jumble & Table Top Sale being held at St John's Church Community Hall, 11am - 1pm.

With Tea, Coffee, Cakes and many different things to buy, why not take a look and find a bargain?

St Michael's Church Linby & St James' Church Papplewick are running an Alpha course. If you are new to Christianity, or would like to attend a course that explores the basics of Christian faith, then Alpha is a superb opportunity.
A meal is provided at the start of each session, with no charge.

It starts at 7:30pm on Saturday the 19th of September, at Hanson House, Quarry Lane, Linby, NG15 8EY.

In January 2019, there is a comedy drama production being held at Papplewick & Linby Village Hall.

'Stairway' is a powerful new comedy drama about faith, hope, love and mental health.

It's on Friday the 25th of January,  at 7:30pm.

Engage Food Project Newsletter

JULY 2018

As always we must begin by thanking all those who give so generously to the Food Project.  Continuing thanks go to Hucknall churches and schools, we received a very generous donation from National Academy, as well as other organisations and individuals both in Hucknall and in the wider community.  Thank you all for the donations of food and money which enable us to continue to support local people in need.  Since our last Newsletter in January 2018, the average number of parcels given per month continues at 75. 

We continue to see people for whom benefit sanctions and changes are a big problem.  As ever only people referred, for example by social services, benefits offices, GPs, churches etc, are given parcels.

Thank you again for your donations of food, all of which should be non-perishable.  We tend to receive fewer donations in the summer months and we are constantly low on stocks of tinned meat, tinned fish but other items, such as tinned vegetables, pasta and sauces, puddings and cereal are always welcome.  Thank you also to those of you who give toiletries, especially toiletries for men, and of course cash which ensures we can buy the items we are short of.
