Haunting Places, Love Letters and More
Winter's setting in around most parts of the world and the political air continues to be gloomy. So Halloween, a festival fast gaining in popularity everywhere, seemed like a good time to bring you some travel noir. This season, Travel Purist takes you to dark places around the world, from beautiful cemeteries and ghost cities to catacombs and haunted prisons. And yet, the most horrific sights are the ones that reveal the darkest side of human nature.
But wait, there's sunshine and cheer, too. We found our spot in the sun with Summertime, a beautiful Balinese-style villa in Goa where you can escape the world and enjoy some birdsong. Meanwhile, graphic designer Chandan Mahimkar went on a different 'type' of journey that he shared with us in Love Letters from Italy. And it was International Snow Leopard Day last week, on 23rd October, so here's one from the archives - Nitisha Agrawal's quest for the snow leopard in Ladakh. This is a good time to plan a trip to the roof of the world if you'd like a glimpse of the 'grey ghost'. Happy Halloween!
