February 2018     Volume 2, Issue 2

February is National Heart Month!

Chances are you know someone who has been affected by heart disease- maybe a friend, someone in your family, or yourself.  Heart disease (cardiovascular disease) includes atherosclerosis, heart failure, and stroke, and is responsible for 1 in 4 deaths in America, making it the leading cause of death for both men and women(1).  The good news is, many forms of heart disease can be treated or prevented by positive lifestyle habits such as choosing nutritious foods whenever possible, eating moderate portions, being physically active on a regular basis, and managing stress.

At AWI we care about your health- both for today, and for the future.
Our programs address many aspects of preventive lifestyle recommendations.  We encourage you to use this month as an opportunity to take advantage of all AWI has to offer, included in your membership:
  • Cooking/Integrated Nutrition Classes to help you apply good nutrition concepts in your kitchen and when eating out
  • Weight Management Program
  • One-on-one Individual Counseling with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
  • Fitness Classes to build strength and improve joint mobility
  • Yoga for stress reduction and blood pressure management
Be inspired, and make a change this month!  If you have any questions about AWI programs or know someone who may be interested, stop in to the office (Suite #188) or email info@awiLife.org for more information!
