Greetings from the THIS IS TIM production office! It has been a long winter but we've been full of action. We've shot interviews with nearly 30 friends, colleagues and family members and collected countless hours of archival footage. Along the way, I have connected many dots of family lore and learned so much about my father in the process.

During these interviews, I keep coming back to this idea of what drove him to strive for excellence in the way he did. Was he born with this innate trait or did he pick it up along the way? He inspired so many, but who inspired him?

Our edit is the perfect time to dive deeper into these questions. As we march toward warmer months, we are nearly ready to shift into post-production, when we distill all our material into what will become our 56-minute feature film. This is a meticulous and time-consuming process, but also tremendously rewarding.

The month of March is a difficult one for me. It was only one year ago that my last moments with my father were seared into memory. But rather than dwell in sadness and loss, I am channeling his strength of character and inner drive to move this project forward, in celebration of and dedication to his lasting legacy.

Drummer, former bandmate and lifelong friend Mark Schulman discusses Tim's unique balance between business and creativity in his interview for THIS IS TIM.
February found us filming at Portland Adventist Academy, where Tim taught guitar, theory and performance classes for two decades. It was an honor to speak with students and educators, tour the recording studio and observe classes. Thank you to the wonderful PAA staff and students for welcoming us!
Family time with Thomas V and Tiffany, 1988.
We also sat down with Tim's only son (and the filmmaker's brother) Thomas. We shared our childhood memories, talked about guitars and that one time Dad tried to throw Tom in the drunk tank overnight...

These family reflections are a cornerstone to the film and we are thrilled  to share this part of our father's story.
We're hitting the road for just one more week of production! Songwriters, students, bandmates and old friends are on the list. We also have a special theater performance shoot scheduled with some of our featured musicians.
