The Trust for Public Land helps structure, negotiate, and complete land transactions that create parks, playgrounds, and protected natural areas. They buy land from willing landowners and then transfer it to public agencies, land trusts, or other groups for permanent protection.
Since 1972, The Trust for Public Land has completed more than 5,200 park and conservation projects, conserved more than 3 million acres, and helped generate more than $33 billion in state and local conservation funding—through the power of public donations and community involvement.
TPL's hope is that, in the future, no one in America is more than 10 minutes away from public land, providing everyone with a space to learn, gather, exercise and play.
Over four decades, The Trust for Public Land has saved 3.3 million acres.
Every $1 donated to The Trust for Public Land conserves more than $4 worth of land.
Until December 15, all gifts made to The Trust for Public Land will be matched $2 to $1.
That’s $12 worth of land for every dollar donated!
