National Social Enterprise Policy

The Department of Rural and Community Development is developing a new Social Enterprise Strategy – see below to download and for more - https://drcd.gov.ie/about/news-centre/press-releases/minister-ring-launches-public-consultation-on-national-policy-on-social-enterprise/.

It is one of the suite of policies currently coming from DRCD that also includes Sustainable, Inclusive and Empowered Communities: A 10-Year Strategy to Support the Community and Voluntary Sectors in Ireland and the National Volunteering Strategy.

DRCD believe there is huge potential in this area and want to bring clarity and coordination to the area. To date, CWI has focused on the critical need not to displace community development funding and on the definition of social enterprise

The deadline for submissions is May 14th
