Lettings Market Brief: Rental properties in high demand in York


We are seeing a huge demand for rental properties in York at the moment with a shortage of all types of properties on the market ranging from one bed apartments to larger family homes.

The recent tax changes have undoubtedly had some impact on the market in York with a number of landlords choosing to sell their properties. However, with the demand for rental properties ever present in the city, we would suggest the changes have had less of an impact here as they have had nationwide. 

You can typically expect good rental yields of around 5% with properties in York which is above the national average and with high demand there is minimal chance of having lengthy void periods.
