Market Brief: A resilient property market in York

The property market in York is proving to be very resilient in what is widely viewed as quite a difficult time for the market nationwide.

With Brexit on the horizon there is a lot of uncertainty which is causing people to be very cautious when it comes to making big decisions such as buying or selling their home. However, York is continuing to rise above this uncertainty and, as such a highly desirable place to live, property remains in high demand.

Market Report from Dunnington

A word from Alex McClean, our personal agent in Dunnington...
"Autumn is when we start to see the property market quieten down, especially within villages to the east/south east of York. This is fairly typical for the time of year; however several recent sales have been achieved stc to the mid-upper end of the market between £500-£750k range. Overall there is a real demand for family houses and bungalows. Our database has several potential buyers who are patiently waiting for properties to view and potentially buy."

Market Report from Poppleton

Limited market supply, yet Autumn is predicted to be just as busy as Summer reports our local Branch Manager, Ruth Tether

"Properties are in high demand but the property market is limited. A Halifax report found 2018 has had fewer homes coming onto the market then any time in the last 10 years. Despite the sparse market, we have had a very busy summer which looks to continue through Autumn."
