WSJ 2023 District Update
It is a great pleasure to support the young people who are representing our District at the World Scout Jamboree 2023.
A number of our young people are well on their way to raising money, with some raising over £1,000 already whether it is selling items at car boot sales, refurbishing equestrian related items, building bird feeders, bug houses, or setting themselves up as young entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, I have submitted grant applications, am currently speaking to local representatives of the Freemasons, Tesco's, Waitrose, and the local councils, and I have asked colleagues at work to recycle their ink cartridges.
On St. Georges Day members of the contingent were invited to support the Endurance GB event on the grounds of Shuckburgh Hall by manning checkpoints, plus running errands for safety marshalls and veterinarians.
The District has also kindly given each participant 10% towards the total cost of £3,750.00.
I am also very grateful to Gabby and Claire who are not only acting as 2nd leaders at our meetings but also providing Adult leadership cover at events I cannot make due to work/family commitments.
As fundraising mentor it is crucial we work together to support these young people, therefore if they are in your group/unit and you are supporting them please drop me an email at email@example.com with what they are doing.
And don't forget the photos, if you are uploading them to socials please remember to tag @DaventryScouts @DavExplorers @NorthantsJambo and #WSJ2023.
