DETAILS FOR ST GEORGE’S DAY
Please note the route has changed this year for Daventry & District St George’s Day Parade.
12:00 Noon - young people to be dropped off at the ICON car park. We will assemble on the grassy area at the side of the ICON building.
For info - dignitaries will meet at 2nd Daventry car park for 12.15.
12.30 - The parade will move off, led by Patrick Richardson (Silver Wolf holder). The parade will go under the subway system and into Daventry Country Park
12.50 - Parade musters near the avenue of cherry trees (planted by members of the District in March to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee).
13.00 - Small speech to be given and ribbon to be officially cut to open the Avenue of Trees. All Group flags to be brought forward to lead off the parade to the top field. All Groups to merge as one family of Scouts. This is also to include parents if they wish to attend.
13.15 - Groups to reform and promises to be renewed.
13.30 - If any Group wishes to have young people presented with Chief Scout Badges, this will now take place.
13.40 - Groups to provide a base/stall. There will be a Viking re-enactment and mascots from Northamptonshire Cricket Club, the Saints and the Cobblers in attendance.
Refreshments are available at the cafe. Anyone wearing a necker will receive a 20% reduction in pricing.
The event is to finish by 16:00
Some Groups will be fundraising in support of Jamboree participants.
For anyone wanting to set up stalls etc on the top field prior to the parade, the field will be available from 9:00 am.
