 Church Business Meeting

We had a great turn out for the Church Business Meeting via Zoom on Feb 13th. The agenda item was: deciding on a church name.  Pastor David presented a Powerpoint on the reasoning behind the name change request. After discussion and some clarifying motions on what the church wanted and was comfortable with, the members voted to form a small committee to delve deeper into finding a name that would work best for our church and its needs. This committee is made up of church members who were at the business meeting and familiar with the discussion that was held.  They will present their name recommendations at a Business Meeting.

Note :  We will also still have a Business Meeting to approve the Church Budget at a soon to be decided date.

Tuition Assistance/Worthy Student Applications 2021-2022 School Year

Financial Aid for Christian K-12 education is available via several means including the Roseville Church Worthy Student program and scholarships via the Northern California Conference and Pacific Union. The Roseville Worthy Student policy/application is available from the Church office; to view and apply for NCC/PUC scholarships, visit https://pacuniongrants.smapply.io.  The deadline for receiving both scholarship and Worthy Student applications is March 1. Unlike prior years, all recommendations, verifications, etc. are completed online so please allow additional time for the process. Priority for the coming school year will be given to Roseville Worthy Student applicants who also apply for appropriate NCC/PUC scholarships. There is no reason to wait until March 1, so please feel free to submit your application as soon as it is completed. If you have any questions, contact Pastor David or Ryan Rasmusson, Chair, Worthy Student Committee at rasmusra@ah.org or 916.813.3872.

Again, keep in mind that since the application process, other than the Roseville Church application, is completed and submitted completely online, and may involve information from other people, it may take additional time.  Please do not wait until the last minute to start the process.

Prayer Request Corner

Our church members and items to pray about this week:

1.  Pastor David is on the road to recovery and is starting to sleep better. His family is all staying healthy.  Pastor appreciates all that Ana has done to take care of him and everything else in their household while he has been ill.  Your prayers are appreciated for continued healing and for Ana for continued strength.

2.  Doris Sterling's surgery for a mass behind her sinuses is scheduled for this Friday. She expects to be home sometime on Sunday.  Our love and prayers are with her.

3.  Trinity Gallaher unexpectedly lost her Mother, Desiree, this past week.  Please keep her and her brothers in your prayers as they mourn this loss.

4.  Grace Muschetto's daughter Denise has a mass on her liver; Tammy Gaddy, a new friend of our congregation, has a tear in her skin; Debbie Lumry's cousin Jan is awaiting test results to determine a treatment plan for her breast cancer; and Kerri Spurgeon is still waiting for a diagnosis.  So thankful God is a personal God and knows how to bless each of our friends.

If you have a need or a prayer request for our Prayer Corner, please contact Lanni at our new number 435-777-2200 ID Code 2475855#

 Information and Upcoming Events

- Feb 27 - Sonja Cartwright
  Offering: Local Conference Advance

- EVANGELISM 2021 UPDATE: We are updating our evangelistic approach this year.  We will begin our evangelistic outreach in the spring as planned, but will instead use short videos over a number of weeks until the fall season when we tie it off with more extensive presentations.

- ELDER TRAINING ON NCC YOUTUBE PAGE - Friday evening, Feb 26, at 6:00pm, PhD candidate, Greg Howell will give a presentation on Church history--something that all pastors and Adventist teachers have studied, but few elders have. We hope to give our elders something a little different and to add a little more depth to their ministry. Also, Sabbath afternoon, Feb 27, from 3-5pm, Dan Sterns (evangelism director for the Texas Conference) will speak about "The Elder's Most Important Job: Key Insights on Leadership and Resources for Small Group Ministry During a Pandemic."
http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC  9YDNk7un6Uh2PbfxRvQ.

- CHURCH OFFICERS SUMMIT:  "The Shift" Church Officers Summit has been rescheduled for Feb. 28, from 8-11am. The server problem has been corrected, and this rescheduled training event will be even bigger--with more church offices and free job descriptions for each one. It’s going to be great! Those who have registered can use the same log-in information, but the organizers will also be sending a direct link to make getting on even easier.

- HOUSING NEEDED:  A single, male Andrews University seminary student is looking for housing in the Roseville area.  Please contact the Pastor if you want more information or know of a place he can stay.

- BIBLE STUDY: Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm.  We are studying the book of Judges and the "roller coaster ride" of God's people, including the reasons why they separated themselves from Him from time to time. Contact the McSherry's for information on how to join the Zoom Bible Study.

- VESPERS SQUAD - We are a community of young adults from all over the Greater Sacramento area that grow closer to God through achieving #squadgoals. Join our group chat so that you can be in the loop of weekly vespers, hikes, camping trips, and outreach. Download the app GroupMe and click this link to join: http://bit.ly/vespers-squad

- MONDAY (10 - 11am or 7 - 8pm) PHONE PRAYER, call (435) 777-2200, and use Code 2475855# - You can join the call for 5 minutes or the entire hour. If "sheltering in place" leaves you hungry for some fellowship, join us this Monday for our weekly prayer call.
