Hello Musicians,

December Concert

Here's some planning information for our concert Sunday December 16 at Brookfield High School.

Brookfield High has a large parking lot, but as we learned last year, it may not be large enough for our army of supporters. Please plan to car pool, and park at the back of the parking lot after dropping off equipment.

Here is the order, and approximate time that each band will be on stage:

  • BB –  1 pm (Warm up 12 Room 142. Move to stage at 12:20)
  • RR  – 1:20 (Warm up 12:20 Room 154)
  • CC –  1:40 (Warm up 12:20 library)
  • EE –  2 pm (Warm up 12:45 library)
  • RC – 2:20 pm (Warm up 1:30 library)
Intermission: 3-4 pm.
  • Refreshments, concert band clean-up and jazz band set-up.
Jazz Bands: 4–5  pm

Registration for Winter Session

Registration for the winter 2019 session will open soon.  Current and past ONHB musicians are invited to register for the winter session starting December 1.  New members will be invited to register from December 11 until December 31, or until bands reach capacity.  After January 1 band lists will be made up and distributed to band leaders.  You are encouraged to register early, as several of our fall session bands are at or near capacity and band leaders may have to limit registrations.

On December 1, the registration form will be found here.  Details about the registration process, when rehearsals start, what to bring, etc., can be found on the ONHB website FAQ, under Our Bands and in the calendar.

Through the generous bequest of Melinda Jacob, flutist with the University of Dayton New Horizons Band, the New Horizons International Music Association (NHIMA) is offering camperships for certain 2019 music camps. These camperships are available to individual NHIMA members who are first time attendees at one of the listed camps. Recipients will be selected through a lottery process. These camperships, ranging from $150 - $300, are available for camps in Chautauqua NY, Helen GA, Santa Rosa CA.  For complete information and registration details, visit

Stay warm!
