Hello Musicians,

Some of us are busy with last-minute practicing, but please read these reminders and final details before heading to the concert on Sunday.

Where and When

The concert is at Brookfield High School, 824 Brookfield Rd, Ottawa, ON K1V 6J3.  It starts at 1 pm, and will go until 5, with an intermission and refreshment break from 3-4.

NB: the warm-up room for TBA has changed from what was provided formerly.
You can leave your cases and coats in the warm-up rooms (NOT valuables, keys or purses).
For those bringing refreshment contributions, you may drop them off in the lobby where tables will be set up, and we don't have access to a kitchen.

Getting on and off Stage

All bands should report to the music room 10 minutes before their scheduled time. A stage crew runner will come get them.  Do not get on stage until the stage crew says so (wait QUIETYLY in the wing/entrance to the stage from the music room).  It's best if you line up in seated order before entering the stage.

After your performance, musicians should exit ASAP off both sides either into the auditorium or out the door on the left (from conductor's perspective). If some musicians are in the next band, they should have their instruments in the wing of the stage.

Program and Poster

Here again is the link to the concert poster.

Also, here is the concert program. The only change from the one sent around previously is the start time on the first page.  Note that the page order may seem strange when you print the program - that's because the file is intended to be printed double-sided and then folded.

Having sufficient parking for band members and their adoring audiences can be a challenge at Brookfield.  Please consider car-pooling.

There may be additional parking across from Brookfield at the government buildings (please double-check the signage and make your own decision):
  • Turn north of Brookfield Rd at the street lights - there are 8 spots in front of the first building on the right (perpendicular to the direction of the traffic).  The first sign on the right, says “Reserved for government workers” but the farthest sign says “Visitors”;
  • At the end of this first street, turn right and  immediately turn left/north.  Along the west side of the street (facing back to the high school) there are parking spots parallel to the curb.   It says “pay parking” from M-F.

And finally...

Have fun!  Your best is good enough!

The ONHB Team
