Reminder -- Fall Back 1 hour -- Zoom in to Church online tomorrow -- a few comments

From Fr Montgomery

It would be WONDERFUL to see you in person tomorrow
And it was a sad decision to make to close the church buildings (following the Governor's guidance in Red Alert Zones) because I KNOW you want to be together. We all do. It is not a matter of being forced to close but rather choosing to do the prudent thing. Norwalk's infection rate has basically doubled each week for three weeks and now is nearly the most infected Red Alert community in Connecticut - second only to New London. We have an infection rate 5-10 times higher than our neighbors in Greenwich, New Canaan, Weston, and Westport and it is climbing. This is no joke and we would be irresponsible if we did not treat it seriously. Here is what the state looks like as of 10/29 (from the CT-DPH site)

And here is what the Governor expects us to do in the towns when we hit a yellow, orange, or red alert level:

Bishop Douglas wrote to us on Friday, when I shared a video I sent to the Vestry, excerpts of which I sent to the parish as well:

Dear Ian.
Your decisions seem prudent given the "red zone" reality of Norwalk.
Thanks for sharing it.
Prayers go out.
Faithfully,
Ian
The Rt. Rev. Ian T. Douglas, Ph.D.
Bishop Diocesan
Episcopal Church in Connecticut

I thank you for your understanding that as responsible adults we have to make responsible decisions that protect those who make bad ones and protect us from being affected ourselves from the bad decisions of others. Sadly that is the reality of living with COVID. It's not a case of trusting each other. It's a case of Christian prudence and civic responsibility.

BLESSEDLY we have become good at worshipping together on Zoom and I have made an enhanced scripture sheet with words for the hymns which you can sing at home! Available HERE And the Service leaflet available HERE.

in Christ,

Fr M.
