Inaugural Open Forum & Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)

Dear MSAP members,

I am delighted to announce that this month, MSAP will be holding our inaugural Open Forum. Our vision for MSAP this year has always included increasing transparency in our processes, bringing our members into our internal processes and diversifying the ways that you, as a valued part of our community, can engage with us. This Open Forum will also serve as an Extraordinary General Meeting, which I am pleased to provide notice for you to attend.

Our Open Forums will be a regular opportunity for you to hear about the internal processes behind MSAP, provide your insights and concerns about where we are headed, and understand how MSAP works as an organisation. Our first Open Forum, held on March 14th in a hybrid format, will be conjoined with an Extraordinary General Meeting where votes will be open for proposed constitutional changes - primarily regarding the introduction of the new Welfare Policy, a new policy developed to support the wellbeing and inclusivity of our organisation. You will also be able to hear our Executives present Friends' Ed, where they'll provide a briefing on the impacts of war upon health, which remains highly topical in our climate.

Application for First Year Representative, Wave 2 Subcommittees and Code Green Representative remain open - we hope to see many of you apply and are eager to read your applications! I look forward to seeing you at our Open Forum, and the many events we have in March, particularly our Launch Night x Treevia Night, which will see our Executive introduce our portfolios and events alongside a migrant and Indigenous health themed night. Despite our original Launch Night being impacted by Covid-19 concerns, we are glad to be able to offer this event on March 16th.

We stand in solidarity with all individuals across the world who are currently impacted by conflict and express our wishes for a peaceful, equitable resolution. In the coming month, we will also spotlight opportunities to support the individuals and communities most impacted.

Sincerely,

- Teresa Sheng
MSAP Secretary 2022

We look forward to seeing you at our Open Forum.
Education Feature:
Covid-19 Antivirals
This month our Educations Portfolio delved into the research behind emerging Covid-19 anti-virals. To test what you have learnt, click on the infographic to access our quiz!

Once you've submitted the quiz, you will enter our quarterly draw to win prizes! Each month this year, we will have an activity to do - if you complete more than half (6 or more out of 10), you will be eligible for a Portfolio Certificate at the end of the year. Submissions close on the last day of each month.
